The founders of C.H.A.S.T.E. Inc., has over twenty years experience in the Emergency Medical and Disaster Response field, starting with the Salvation Army, New York Fire Department Emergency Medical Services unit as well as the United Sates Army.
The market for disaster planning, training and response has escalated since September 11, 2005. With this increase, many organizations such as The American Red Cross, Office of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has worked tirelessly to help Americans prepare for heightened emergencies and disaster by readiness courses, new and paper advertisements and increased training for persons who attend their sites.
Regardless of the increase, many socio-economically disadvantaged communities are not aware of what to do in emergency and disaster situations nor do they know how to properly prepare for these events. This occurs for various reasons, language, cultural differences, limited and strained finances, time and basic apathy towards the subject. C.H.A.S.T.E. Inc. was formed for this particular reason, to reach these socio-economically disadvantaged communities; communities in which many of us still reside.
